On to the Next Big Thing

Employment-wise:

On Monday, September 18th, I begin a new journey of employment at Element X Creative.
I have already met the owner, who seems extremely nice. It's a small studio at the moment, but it sounds like it will be expanding fast. They (or we) are moving to a new studio soon to accommodate this growth. There are about 10 people up there right now, 2 of which are former DNA coworkers of mine. It is nice to see some familiar faces, and one can only hope that as more staff is added on, perhaps even more old friends will appear. I'll be working as an animator and I can't wait to get back to work. How many people can say that?

Education-wise:

I recently played substitute parent at my brother's sophomore open house, and was thrilled to see some of the great things going on Animation-wise. Not only do they offer 3 or 4 years of animation classes in high school now, the stuff that these kids are coming up with is amazing. I saw some pretty nice animation, great models, and some impressive shorts. I was so proud to check out the model that my brother is working on after only 2 weeks of class. I wish that I had been able to pursue animation so early in the game, but its great that these kids are getting a head start!

Game-wise:

My brother is also a programming genius! He has been programming mods for some of his favorite games, and his latest release has been the top download on the game's file sharing site since release over a month ago. It has had more than 11, 800 downloads. How amazing is that?
I always knew it, but now it is confirmed... this kid can do anything he sets his mind to!
